Police Release Images Of Woman Sought For Hamilton Area Bank Heists

Police in Hamilton released images of a suspect a day after a pair of bank robberies.

The heists happened within less than an hour of each other and authorities believe the same woman is responsible for both. On Friday police released a series of security camera images.

The suspect handed an employee a note claiming she had a gun around 2pm Thursday at the CIBC at 32 Wilson St. W. in Ancaster, police allege. No gun was spotted and the woman left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Just over half an hour later, police say a woman who matches the description of the suspect in the earlier robbery handed a teller a note claiming she was armed and demanding cash at a TD Canada Trust Branch at 781 Mohawk Rd. W. in Hamilton.

Authorities wouldn’t say how much money was taken.

The suspect is described as:

  • Black
  • In her 20s
  • About 5’
  • She was wearing a dark grey hoodie, grey sweatpants, a black Pittsburgh Pirates baseball hat and dark sunglasses.

Authorities believe this woman is also responsible for bank heists in the Halton and Waterloo regions.
