StreetBeat – May 3 – Toddler Struck And Killed In Markham

A two-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car in Markham Monday evening.

It happened around 6pm at a home on Bushberry Ct., near 16th Ave. and McCowan Rd.

Police say the child’s mother was backing out of the driveway when the toddler, who had been playing in the front yard, ran behind the vehicle. She did not see him there as she continued to reverse.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops Release Images Of Sex Assault Suspect

Police released images Monday of a suspect they allege sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in a utility room of a condo near King Street and University Avenue last month.

“He approached her in front of a club and had taken her to the storage area of a condominium where he sexually assaulted her,” Const. Tony Vella told CityNews.ca.

The suspect, who was caught on security cameras, is described as:

  • White
  • 18 to 25-years-old
  • Medium build
  • Last seen wearing a dark, checkered button-down shirt and blue jeans

Police said the alleged attack happened around midnight on Friday, April 2.
