Car Seized Following Apparent Street Racing Incident On Gardiner

One car was seized and investigators continue to search for a second following an apparent street racing incident on the Gardiner Expressway early Monday.

Officers had to make a choice when they allegedly clocked two vehicles traveling well above the posted speed limit near Kipling – they went after the slower one.

Cops nabbed the 29-year-old driver of a BMW that had allegedly been speeding at 189 kilometres an hour. The luxury car has been seized for seven days and the man’s licence has been suspended after he was reportedly charged with stunt driving.

The car that got away – reportedly a Mercedes-Benz – was apparently speeding along the highway at 224 km/h.
