StreetBeat – May 13 – Composite Sketch Of Assault Suspect Released

Toronto Police are trying to track down a suspect wanted for two downtown break-ins and assaults.

The first alleged incident happened Fri., April 30 around 4:30pm near Parliament and Shuter. Police said a person with a knife broke into a ground floor apartment and then confronted the resident with a knife.

Six days later police were called out to investigate an assault at a store in the Parliament and Gerrard area. Investigators said a man entered the store and attacked the owner around 3pm.

On Thursday authorities released a composite sketch of a man, believed to be responsible for both crimes.

Oshawa Man Charged For Alleged Sexual Assault On 5-Yr.-Old Child

A 27-year-old man is facing charges after an alleged sexual assault on a five-year-old child in Oshawa last week.

Authorities said the girl’s parents left their home to go to a convenience store around midnight on May 6 and left their child in the care of a friend.

The couple was gone only a few minutes, police said. When the parents returned the child told them their friend had touched her inappropriately.

Ryan Swinson of Oshawa is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and for failing to comply with probation.

Teacher Arrested For Sexual Exploitation

An Uxbridge high school teacher is facing charges after allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Police have charged Christopher Sager, 29 of Markham with three counts of sexual exploitation.

School officials contacted police after they became aware of what they say is an inappropriate relationship between Sager and a 17-year old female student at the same school.

Sager was released on conditions of ceasing all communication with the victim and remaining out of Durham Region except for court appearances.
