New Study Revisits Possible Link Between Cellphones And Cancer

A new study has revisited the possible link between cellphone use and brain cancer.

And much like service in a low-bar neighbourhood, the research, conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), was inconclusive.

The authors found that while using the portable devices for more than 30 minutes a day could increase the risk of glioma, “biases and error prevent a causal interpretation.”

Cellphone use also did not increase the risk of developing meningioma.

Both meningioma and glioma are brain cancers. While meningioma is more common, glioma is more deadly.

According to The Associated Press, the authors need to investigate further before they can say for certain there is absolutely no link between cellphone use and brain cancer.

Researchers looked at nearly 13,000 people in 30 countries. The study, which received a quarter of its funding from the cellphone industry, will be published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.
