The major leagues’ top slugging team was at it again.
Vernon Wells hit one of four Toronto homers as the Blue Jays throttled the Minnesota Twins 11-2, earning a split of their two-game mini-series.
The home run moves Wells into a tie with Joe Carter for second place on the franchise’s all-time list.
Both men have 203 career homers as a Blue Jay, 163 behind team leader Carlos Delgado.
Aaron Hill, Lyle Overbay and Edwin Encarnacion also went deep for the Jays, who lead the majors with 65 round-trippers.
Shaun Marcum was the fortunate recipient of the offensive burst, throwing seven strong innings to improve to 3-and-1.
Carl Pavano allowed six runs in just four innings of work to take the loss.
