One Dead, Five Injured In Peel Crash

Peel Police are investigating a fatal crash that left one man dead and five other people injured.

One of those injured is a 12-year-old girl.

Officers are looking for witnesses following the Sunday morning collision. It happened around 4:47 am on Erin Mills Parkway just south of Battleford Road.

Police believe that a 34-year-old man was behind the wheel of a silver Camaro that was driving north in the southbound lanes.

He crashed into a southbound minivan that had five people inside.

The driver of the Camara was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released at this time.

Meanwhile, the driver of the van, a 17-year-old male, was taken to a local hospital.

One of his passengers, a 12-year-old girl, was airlifted to a local trauma center in critical condition. The other three passengers were also taken to a trauma center where they remain in serious condition. They are between 14 and 18 years old.

Investigators are looking for one witness in particular, who may have been operating a red Ford Mustang at the time of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or the circumstances leading up to it, is urged to come forward.
