Damage Pegged At More Than Half A Million Dollars After Queen West Fire

Damage to a line of buildings on Queen Street West has been pegged at $600,000 following a four-alarm blaze.

The flames erupted around 6pm Monday on the south side of Queen just west of Manning Avenue. The fire started accidentally on an apartment back deck and spread quickly through the connected buildings.

No injuries were reported and four stores below the apartments, including the Australian Boot Company and a Flight Centre outlet, suffered heavy water damage.
