Street Beat – May 31 – Man Stabbed At Greenwood Park

A young man is in hospital following a fight at Greenwood Park.

Toronto Police believe that a group of youths were fighting between 9pm and 9:30pm on Sunday.

One of the men allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the other.

 “We had an altercation between youths in the park. One male was injured and was taken to St Michael’s Hospital in serious condition,” Det. Robert Whalen said.

“We’re searching for unknown suspects.”


Cement Truck Rolls Over On Ramp To Hwy 407

A cement truck driver is in hospital after his vehicle flipped on its side on a ramp to Highway 407 Monday morning.

It happened minutes before 11am on the ramp from northbound Highway 27 to westbound Highway 407 in Vaughan.

It appears the 25-year-old driver took the ramp too fast and his loaded truck rolled onto its side. The man was ejected from the vehicle and knocked unconscious.

He came to when emergency crews arrived and was transported to Sunnybrook hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP is investigating.

Missing Elderly Man

Toronto Police are searching for a missing elderly man and they need your help.

Cedric Crichlow, 75, was last seen in the Meadowvale Road and Ellesmere Road area on Sunday, May 30 at 6:30pm.

Crichlow (pictured below) is described as:

  • black
  • 5’9″
  • 180 lbs
  • medium build
  • salt-and-pepper hair
  • brown eyes (right eye is grey due to a cataract)
  • moustache
  • He was last seen wearing a green T-shirt with horizontal stripes, green pants and grey running shoes.

Police Searching For Missing Boy

Toronto Police are searching for a missing boy and they need your help.

Wayne Jackson, 12, was last seen on May 27 near Eglinton and Midland.

Jackson, pictured below, is described as:

  • black
  • 5’9″
  • 161 lbs.
  • brown eyes
  • afro hair pulled in a ponytail.
  • He was wearing a black cotton shirt, blue jeans and black Nike running shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.
