A key witness in the murder of a 25-year-old man last Saturday has come forward and spoken to police.
David Winn, 54, was in the car when his daughter, Melissa Lewis, got into an argument with her common-law husband, Ludlow Gillespie, as he was driving.
Lewis, 24, then allegedly stabbed Gillespie in the neck. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Health Centre, where he later died.
The couple’s six-year-old daughter was also in the car at the time, and Winn fled with the distraught girl immediately after the incident. Several hours later, she was found safe.
In a press conference on Monday, police urged Winn to come forward. A day later he emerged and detectives interviewed him about the case.
