Video Released Of Persons Of Interest In Sex Assault

Police are hoping the public will be able to shed light on an alleged sexual assault which happened late last month.

A 19-year-old woman told detectives that on the evening of Saturday, May 22, she and her friends went to a bar near Bloor St. W. and Spadina Rd., and also partied at a bar in the entertainment district and in Richmond Hill.

It’s believed the woman was drugged at some point during the evening and taken to a laneway, where she was sexually assaulted.

In the early hours of Sunday, May 23, the woman found herself in the Yonge and Centre St.-area in Richmond Hill. She could not remember the events leading up to the alleged assault.

“It’s a mystery to her as well. It is a drug-facilitated sex assault,” Det. Cst. Bob Rodeghiero said.

Officers from the Sex Crimes Unit would now like to speak with two men, unknown to the victim and so far only described as “persons of interest.” They were caught on security video from the entertainment district that night carrying a woman who appeared to be unconscious.

The first man is described as white, 29 – 31 years old, with muscular arms and light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants. He also had a ring on his left pinky finger, a watch on his left arm and a gold chain around his neck.

The second man is described as white, 29 – 31 years old, with dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants.
