Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s former spokesman is reportedly working to bring a Fox News-style channel to Canada.
Kory Teneycke left his position with the Prime Minister’s Office last year and was on Wednesday appointed vice president of development at Quebecor Media Inc., which has filed an application with the CRTC for a new English-language all-news television network.
Harper’s former communications director had been working on contract with QMI for several months as rumours swirled about the possibility of a new, right-of-centre news channel being established in Canada. The channel being pitched would reportedly be based on Fox News, which is rated the most-watched cable news channel in the United States.
Teneycke has refused to comment on the proposal and its political bent.
