Seven People Die In Quebec City Plane Crash

Quebec officials confirm all seven people aboard have been killed after a small plane crashed shortly after taking off from the Quebec City airport.

The plane crashed into the immense backyard of a luxury home two to three kilometres from the Jean Lesage airport, leaving a trail of charred debris in a suburban neighbourhood.

Airport officials say the pilot reported engine trouble and the Beechcraft King Air 100 went down a few seconds later. But officials say it’s still too early to determine the cause of the crash.

Officials have not released the identities of the two crew and five passengers.

The 6 a.m. flight was heading for Sept-Iles in eastern Quebec. It was operated by Aeropro, a  22-year-old company that runs business and recreational charters.

The crash comes just one month after another Aeropro plane crashed in nearby L’Isle Aux Grues, killing four people.
