Group Claims Responsibility For Explosion At Canadian Forces Recruitment Centre in Que.

Just under half an hour after a Canadian Forces recruitment centre in Trois-Rivieres, Que. received a bomb threat, an explosion ripped through the facility Friday.

No one was hurt in the blast, authorities said.

The explosion happened around 3am. Police have confirmed a bomb threat was received beforehand. A group called “Resistance internationaliste” claimed responsibility for the blast in a letter to the newspaper Montreal La Presse.

However, provincial police would not name the group.

Investigators have established an extensive security perimeter around the building, which is near a bus station and a large hotel. A bomb squad and canine unit were called in for the investigation.

Quebec provincial police are leading the probe.
