Victim Identified In Car Wash Murder

A man murdered at a car wash has been identified.

Emad Rozik, 49, was fatally shot on July 6.

Officers were called 1566 Midland Ave., near Lawrence Avenue East, just after 1pm on Tuesday. There, they found Rozik. He was rushed to hospital but died shortly after.

Investigators believe that the suspect was at the car wash and was asked to leave by the victim. The suspect then shot the victim and left the scene.

An employee at the car wash, who was working his first shift on the job, told CityNews what he saw.

“I heard bang bang bang three times,” he said.  “I never thought I was going to witness something like this in front of my eyes.

“He knew this guy was trouble so he was trying to get him out of the place. He was trying to call the police, but I think this dude just turned back and shot him.”

Police are still looking for the suspect. He’s described as:

  • male
  • black
  • 6’4″
  • thin build
  • He was wearing a black baseball cap (with some type of insignia on the front), a black t-shirt with a baggy white t-shirt over top (worn to below the hips), baggy, black denim shorts (worn below the knees), and black/white high-top running shoes.
