Police have arrested an elderly woman they suspect tampered with packages of food in grocery stores.
At least five customers found sewing needles inside packages of Piller’s Polish Sausage and Turkey Kielbasa bought in May at several No Frills stores and a Price Chopper location in the west end.
Detectives say they caught the suspect at a grocery store on Dundas St. W. on Friday afternoon, but would not reveal her name.
She is due in court on Saturday morning.
