Mountie Accused of Killing Wife in Court

An Edmonton Mountie is charged with second-degree murder.

The body of Constable Tarith Sehmbi’s wife was found Saturday in the couple’s southeast Edmonton home.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is heading up the homicide investigation. It laid the charge Sunday.

Police were called to a home early Saturday morning after a report of shots being fired.

A 36-year-old officer was arrested at another location an hour and a half later.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine how the woman died.
