Key Ignatieff Adviser Dies In Motorcycle Crash

Michael Ignatieff’s director of communications has been killed in a motorcycle accident.

Mario Lague was on his way into work in the Liberal leader’s office Thursday when he was involved in a collision with a SUV.

Ottawa police say the 49-year-old driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

They say charges may be laid pending the outcome of their investigation.

Lague, a 52-year-old former bureaucrat, leaves a wife and two children.

His death will leave a big hole in the Liberal leader’s inner circle.
