Council Approves Waterfront Arena, Waiting On Funding

City Council has approved a waterfront hockey arena.

Now, it’s just a matter of getting the money.

The executive committee, including Mayor David Miller, voted in favour of the Port Lands Sports Centre Project proposal on Monday.

The four-pad arena is expected to cost $88 million but the city doesn’t even have half of that. Only $34 million has been earmarked for the Waterfront Toronto Long-Term Funding Plan.
