McDonald’s Manager Arrested For Sexual Offences

A manager of a Whitby McDonald’s has been arrested and charged after two female employees came forward about alleged sexual offences dating back to last spring.

In late August, the teens told police the sexual offences happened at the Ajax home of their 35-year-old supervisor, Anthony Barsanti. He had convinced both girls to visit him at separate times after striking up relationships via text messaging and social media sites.

The victims, aged 15 and 16, were not physically harmed and did not need medical treatment.

After an investigation, Durham’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit arrested Barsanti on Thursday and charged him with sexual exploitation, sexual assault and sexual interference. He is in custody pending a bail hearing.

Anyone with new information is asked to reach police at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 5323. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
