More Charges Laid For G20 Vandalism

Detetctives have laid more charges for damage done to police property during the G20 summit.

Members of the G20 Investigative Team had already arrested 25-year-old Ashan Ravindhraraj of Toronto and charged him for damaging two police cruisers near Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue on the first day of the summit. Now they have added two more offences – failure to comply and obstructing a peace officer

Police have also charged 31-year-old Lekang Mdlongwa of Toronto with arson and wearing a disguise with intent.

The summit took place on the weekend of June 26 and 27. On the first day, a group broke away from a peaceful protest and smashed store windows and torched police cruisers.
