Although there are no marathons or major events this weekend, part of the Gardiner Expressway was again closed to traffic Saturday, causing traffic chaos. This isn’t the last closure for the season; there will be three more occasions before the end of the year.
Both east and westbound lanes were scheduled to be shut down from 2am to 6pm between Spadina Avenue and the Humber River for bridge work, but reopened at approximately 3:30pm Saturday.
Construction on the bridge at Jameson Avenue is expected to continue until November of next year.
