Police Search For Man Who Approached Milton Boy Several Times This Week

Halton Regional Police are searching for a man who allegedly approached a Milton boy several times in a single week.

The first incident happened as the 11-year-old was walking to school along Woodward Avenue, near Joyce Boulevard, on Oct. 18. Police say a man rode up to the boy on a bike, asked him a question and then handed him a bag of candy.

The man showed up again the next day at the same time. This time they had a brief conversation and the man told the boy not to tell anyone that they’d talked. Once again, he handed the child a bag of candy and took off.

A similar situation played out again on Oct. 21st at the same time and place. This time the suspect gave the boy a bag of candy and took a picture of him on a cameraphone.

On Oct. 22nd, the boy’s father and police trailed back as the youngster walked to school. The dad spotted a man on a bike matching the suspect’s description and called out to his son to ensure it was the strange man. The suspect tried to take off, the father gave chase but wasn’t able to catch up.

The suspect is described as:

  • White,
  • 38 to 48-years-old,
  • Dark hair,
  • Strong, athletic build,
  • Round face and a weathered, pale complexion,
  • He was wearing black-framed sunglasses with blue lenses.
  • He was also wearing a black backpack with red flames or a graffiti-type pattern.

The suspect was riding a white, or light beige mountain bike with a square frame.
