It wasn’t just Toronto residents that headed to the polls on Monday.
Across Ontario, every municipality cast their vote for change – or more of the same. In the GTA, Hazel McCallion was re-elected in Mississauga. It’s the 12th term for the octogenarian dubbed “Hurricane.”
“I feel happy,” McCallion said.
“The citizen’s have responded and they always do. I always respect the decision of the citizens. I’m very pleased,” she said.
When asked how she felt about Rob Ford’s victory in Toronto, McCallion was diplomatic as ever.
“The people of Toronto have spoken. Whoever is elected, I will work with them for the good of the greater Toronto area and for the good of the province of Ontario,” she said.
