Sunset Wednesday marks the beginning of the Festival of Lights, known as Hanukkah, for the city’s Jewish community.
On Tuesday, the United Jewish Appeal Federation of Greater Toronto held its Hanukkah party. Fifty-five Holocaust survivors were in attendance with their families and friends to celebrate the holiday.
There are several events planned across the city for the eight day festival. You can find a full list here.
The celebration is marked by the lighting of an additional candle on the Menorah each night.
