Richmond Hill Driver Clocked Doing Over 200 Km/h

Police have suspended a Richmond Hill man’s licence and seized his car after they reportedly clocked him doing more than 200 km/h north of the city.

An Aurora OPP officer stopped Riaz Khan, 33, around 12am Saturday while he was driving southbound on Highway 400 near King Road.

The officer, who suspected the man had been drinking, arrested him and took him back to the station for a breath test.

Khan was charged with drunk driving over .08, dangerous driving, stunt driving, driving without a licence and operating a motor vehicle with open liquor.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and the silver Mercedez-Benz he was driving, seized for seven days.

He was released and will appear in a Newmarket court on Jan. 11.
