Street Beat – January 10 – Vaughan Woman Killed In Head-On Crash

A 46-year-old Vaughan woman has died after a head-on collision on Sunday evening.
The woman was driving eastbound on Major Mackenzie Drive near Islington Avenue, when, around 7pm, she crossed into oncoming traffic and sideswiped a transport truck. The woman then continued for a short distance and collided head-on with a westbound car.
The woman died at the scene, and the 58-year-old Vaughan man driving the other car was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 50-year-old tractor-trailer driver from Bracebridge was not hurt.
York Regional Police are still investigating and would like any witnesses to call them.
