Toronto Men Arrested In LA, Accused Of Plotting To Smuggle Coke In Lettuce

Two Toronto men have been arrested in Los Angeles, accused of plotting to smuggle cocaine into Canada inside heads of lettuce.

Police allegedly found more than 103 pounds of cocaine and about $2.4 million in cash in a Valencia warehouse.

According to KTLA, one of the accused, Vasile Babuschin, led investigators to the warehouse after he was served with a search warrant.

Babuschin, 19, and Sergei Souetov, 32, are charged with drug trafficking and possession of cocaine.

They have both pleaded not guilty and will next appear in court on February 4.
