Man Charged For Alleged Death Threats Against Parking Enforcement Officer & Another

A 36-year-old man has been charged for allegedly threatening to kill a parking enforcement officer (PEO) and another person.

The alleged incident happened last week in the Junction. Authorities claim the man started punching and kicking the door of a parking enforcement vehicle, while the officer was inside, and then hurled a death threat.

The parking enforcement officer had just tagged a car parked in a no-standing area at Keele and Dundas around 9:45am on Jan. 26.

The officer radioed for help and a passerby witnessed the alleged attack and wrote down the suspect’s licence plate number. Police allege the man also threatened the witness before driving off down Keele.

A short time later the driver surrendered to police at 11 Division and was charged with two counts threatening death. He’s due in court on March 7.

Another parking enforcement officer was attacked near Islington and Lake Shore last month.

A man was charged with threatening death in another incident involving a parking enforcement officer last fall.

And a PEO was punched in the face last March.
