Another former mayoral candidate plans to take a crack at provincial politics.
Sarah Thomson has been guaranteed the Liberal nomination for the riding of Trinity-Spadina, according to a report in the Toronto Star.
The Women’s Post publisher will try to unseat NDP MPP Rosario Marchese, who’s represented the downtown district for more than two decades.
Thomson bowed out of the mayoral race in late September and threw her support behind George Smitherman.
Last month, Rocco Rossi, who also ran for mayor, announced he’ll be running for the Ontario Progressive Conservatives in the riding of Eglinton-Lawrence.
Ontarians head to the polls Oct. 6, 2011.
