Soon, Torontonians will be able to cruise on two wheels as the Bixi bike rental system will launch May 3.
The program will kick off with 1,000 bikes, 80 Bixi stations and 1,500 docking points spread out over the downtown core.
Locations for the Bixi stations are expected to be announced in April.
City council approved the program last year. It allows riders to pick up a bike at one station and when they’re done riding, drop it off at another.
A day pass runs $5, a monthly pass is $40 and a yearly subscription is $95.
The program is already running Montreal, Washington and Minneapolis and is set to launch this spring in Ottawa.
The company reports around 1,200 of the yearly subscriptions have already been sold.
