Body found in Caledon is female: Police

The Ontario Provincial Police have identified the body found in Caledon on Thursday, but aren’t releasing the victim’s name.

The OPP said her family has not yet been notified.

A man out for a walk spotted the remains in a ditch on Heart Lake Road around 6pm, just blocks from where murder victim Sonia Varaschin’s body was discovered in September.

Police said there was no link between the two cases at this time.

Varaschin, a 42-year-old nurse from Orangeville, was reported missing on August 30, 2010. Her body was found on September 5. Her killer is still at large.
