Winter to return to southern Ontario

Just when you thought you were out, Mother Nature pulls you back in.

Even though it’s officially spring, snow and freezing rain are in the forecast for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

“Get out and enjoy Tuesday while you can,” CityNews meteorolgist Adam Stiles warned.

“I know what’s coming next,” he added.

A system coming in from Colorado is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday evening, bringing snow to the Greater Toronto Area, Grey-Bruce, and all regions in between.

Further south, residents in Goderich and the Niagara Peninsula will also see snow – and they could also be slammed with ice pellets and freezing rain. That freezing rain will also fall on Sarnia and London, and stretch south to Chatham and St. Thomas. Windsor is also due for more rain and it could turn into a thunderstorm in that region.

In Toronto, we’ll see a high of 6 degrees C on Tuesday, falling to a low of -4 degrees C overnight. Along with the snow on Wednesday, the temperature will stay steady near -2 degrees C.

And not surprisingly, many Torontonians have had enough of Old Man Winter.

“I hate the weather, I hope it gets better soon. But it is Canada and it is March,” said University of Toronto professor Cameron Norman.

“That’s terrible, having to shovel in spring. That’s definitely the worst,” said Ryerson University student Ryan Williams.
