A motorcyclist is dead following a crash on the Gardiner Expressway.
The victim is believed to be a man in his mid-20s. Police say the driver was in the eastbound lanes when he lost control of his motorcycle and crossed into the westbound lanes around 7 p.m. He was struck by an oncoming car and pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision has shut down both the eastbound and westbound Gardiner Expressway as well as part of the Don Valley Parkway, and the closures are expected to last for several hours.
Toronto Police say drivers will be forced off the eastbound Gardiner at Jarvis, and there is no entry at Lower Jarvis.
The westbound Gardiner will be closed from Lakeshore to Carlaw, and the southbound DonValley Parkway will be closed at Richmond, Sgt. Tim Burrows tweeted.
Police are investigating.
