It’s a proud but bittersweet honour.
Five months after his passing, Citytv’s “voice,” Mark Dailey, has been awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
“Over the past few months I’ve had some very overwhelming moments, and this is one of them. This is an honour and a privilege to be here tonight to accept this award for Mark,” said Mark’s widow Kim.
“He was a producer’s dream, just a brilliant broadcaster who had a genuine appreciation for the audience,” said Tina Cortese, Vice President of News, Citytv.
Citytv was also given the Dave Rogers Long Feature Award for our coverage of Mark’s life and career after his death.
Meanwhile Breakfast Television won the Spot News, Charlie Edwards Award for their live coverage of two missing Barrie boys being reunited with their families.
Our sister station 680 News was also honoured with five awards, including several for the G8 and G20 coverage.
