iVillage.ca is here for Canadian women

Welcome to iVillage Canada! Even if you don’t have iVillage bookmarked, you’ve probably heard of us before. We’ve been around since people first hooked up to the internet (with their beeping dial-up connections), and we’ve been growing ever since, to become the largest content-driven community for women on the web.

The internet has grown so much since we launched, but with the avalanche of content on any given topic, it’s hard to know which source is trustworthy. Which is why we bring all the important stuff under one roof, with info you need and the experts you trust. Think of iVillage Canada as a hub for essential information on every stage of your life, but geared to Canadian women, with your voice and your perspective.

We’ve hand-picked a team of truly great Canadian women – each with their own area of expertise – to write about the issues that affect us day-to-day.  Lianne Phillipson-Webb (author and founder of Sprout Right), our expert on nutrition and health, will advise on how to keep ourselves – and our loved ones – healthy. We’re thrilled to have renowned blogger Catherine Connors (herbadmother.com), to give us her hilarious and insightful take on parenting. Design maven Cheryl Torrenueva of Home Heist will give you simple tips to create the perfect at-home space. Keeping us looking sharp is Sarah Francis (RealLifeRunway.com) translates runway fashion, making it accessible to those of us who balk at couture costs. Fitness guru Jane Clapp makes exercise seem manageable and fun, and Radio host Taylor Kaye (Kiss 92) will rave about the tunes making her dance and the entertainment that has her glued.

Social media and online community are all the buzz these days, but we’ve been doing it for years! Community has always been the heart and soul of iVillage. Unlike Facebook or Twitter, where *everyone* you know can read your status, iVillage lets you direct your discussion to the diverse network of women on our discussion boards. You can reach out to for advice, to rant, or to share a laugh, and our members will chime back, girlfriend-to-girlfriend.

Canadian women are passionate about what they love, which is why we’ve wrapped the launch of our site in an exciting contest all about passion. The iVillage Passion Project is an interactive program that invites Canadian women to share their passions for the best things in life; for things like family, fashion, fitness, celebrity, work and relationships. It’s also a chance to watch other women – including Cityline’s Tracy Moore and Sportsnet’s Martine Gaillard – talk about the things that matter most in a collection of over 50 vibrant original videos.

Watching these videos also gives you a chance to to WIN one of over 250 prizes – instantly – plus score daily entries into a grand-prize sweepstakes, where one lucky participant will pick up an exclusive VIP trip for four to Universal Orlando® Resort. To collect bonus entries, users are invited to add their passions to the dynamic iVillage Passion Wall.

Whew. There’s so much more to write, but why don’t you take over from here? Click around, check out all the sections, try out one of recipes on the food site, check out the latest trends in style, watch some Passion videos and let us know what you think! We’re always evolving and getting new content. Something you want to read about? Let us know!  iVillage Canada is here for you.
