Man arrested in one of two stabbings overnight

Police have arrested a suspect after a serious stabbing in the northwest end overnight.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, a man in his 30s was knifed about four times in the upper body while at Saini’s Eastcoasters Bar & Eatery on Keele Street, north of Wilson Avenue.

He underwent surgery at Sunnybrook hospital and is now in stable condition.

Reports say the suspect will be charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder.

Around the same time, another man was allegedly attacked by a group of males and stabbed on York Gate Boulevard, near Jane and Finch.

According to officers, the victim called them after noticing a small cut behind his ear when he got home.

He was taken to Humber River Regional Hospital for treatment.
