Ashton Kutcher on ‘Two and a Half Men’: I’ve ‘Won the Lotto’

Ashton Kutcher is settling quite nicely to his new home as Charlie Sheen’s replacement on Two and a Half Men. The actor appeared at the CBS upfront presentation in New York Wednesday, where he was introduced (like that was necessary) to the press by the network’s president Nina Tassler.

“It’s awesome to be here,” said Kutcher, who was joined on stage by his new costars, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones. “I could not be more excited. I never in my 13 years of show business received more e-mails and phone calls congratulating me for this job. It’s almost like I won the lotto. And I kind of did.”

And it’s quite the jackpot. Kutcher is reportedly making $700,000 per episode plus incentives for his new gig.

“I got the best job in show business and I’m excited about that,” Kutcher added.

The actor, who seems to fit right in on the set of the comedy, Tweeted a photo of himself and his new TV family, while Cryer joked about the new big man on campus.

“Did you have to get a tall guy?” he asked Tassler. “Really, was that necessary? It’s [now] One and Two Half Men.”

If the people over at CBS aren’t as thrilled with the hiring of Kutcher as he is, then there is definitely some good acting going on over there. We just hope, for their sake, that all of this giddiness translates into some funny television making.
