Thelma, Louise in Toronto for 20th anniversary

Twenty years after Oscar-winners Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis raised hell as a pair of accidental outlaws in Thelma & Louise, they’re in town to talk about the iconic film.

Released in June 1991, the movie became a symbol of women’s rights following as it did an Arkansas waitress and a housewife who shoot a rapist and flee in a ’66 Thunderbird.

The stars – who were nominated for Academy Awards for their roles – are scheduled to discuss the film’s influence at Roy Thomson Hall Tuesday night.

Ridley Scott co-produced and directed the feature, which did win a best screenplay Oscar.

It was also a breakthrough for Brad Pitt, who played a paroled robber who befriends the women.
