Calphalon knife set recalled over injury hazard; 300 sold in Canada

A knife block set is being recalled because two of the knives can possibly poke through the bottom of the wooden block holder.

The knife sets were made by Calphalon Corp. of Atlanta and sold across the U.S. from 2007 through May 2011.

Three-hundred knife block sets sold in Canada are affected by the recall, while about 217,000 are being recalled in the U.S.

The knife sets affected have the model numbers KNS17C and KNS21C.

Calphalon says it has received one report of a cut finger injury, although it’s not clear if the injury happened in Canada.

Consumers are encouraged to call Calphalon (at 800-766-5652) to order a free repair kit.
