Dog trainer facing additional charges in animal cruelty case

An Oshawa dog trainer who was first arrested a month ago is now facing additional charges in an animal cruelty case.

Craig Wright, 42, is accused of a total of 23 animal cruelty charges and is in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Wright is the owner of the FACW K9 facility on Waterloo Road. Pet owners who had placed their dogs in Wright’s care held a protest outside the centre on May 16, saying Wright had abused their dogs.

Two owners claimed their dogs had died while in Wright’s care.

None of the allegations have been proven.

Durham Regional Police are investigating. Anyone with information can call 1-888-579-1520 ext. 3617.
