Restrictions on Lake Shore start Wednesday as Indy preps get underway

Preparations for the upcoming Honda Indy will cause some headaches for commuters this week.

Just one lane of Lake Shore Boulevard West will be open in each direction Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Strachan Avenue to British Columbia Drive.

Then, as of 9 p.m., a full closure will be in effect on the busy route, in the same area, until Sunday at midnight, after the race.

Strachan between Lake Shore and Fleet Street will also be closed as of noon Wednesday until Sunday night.

Indy events kick off Thursday morning. Practice runs and qualifying races start Friday.
