Accused men in real estate agent’s death appear in court

Three men accused of killing a real estate agent appeared in a Brampton court on Thursday.

Peel region police asked the court Thursday for three more days to investigate. Human remains were found in a Markham home, and officers are currently attempting to confirm the remains are those of the missing agent.

Real estate agent Jianguo “Tony” Han and his client Xiu Jun “Johnny” Fei were kidnapped from a home on Featherston Drive in Mississauga on Jan. 20.

Fei was found safe several days later. However, Han was never found.

Senthuran Sabesan, 23, was originally charged with first-degree murder in Han’s death but the charge was reduced to manslaughter on Thursday. He’s also accused of kidnapping the real estate agent and holding him for ransom.

Gobinath Shanthakumar and Sohaib Ma were also charged with manslaughter.  The three men remain in custody.

Sabesan and Hinthurjin Baskaran, 21, face kidnapping charges in relation to Fei’s disappearance.
