Two men were rushed to hospital Thursday morning after a car slammed into a pole, fire hydrant and stone wall on Lake Shore Boulevard West, near Royal York Road. One of the victims lost an arm in the crash.
The accident happened just after 2 a.m. The car was apparently speeding along Lake Shore when the driver lost control and crashed.
Police say speed may have been a factor. Lake Shore Boulevard West is closed between Royal York and Miles roads for the investigation.
The driver, said to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries. His passenger, also said to be in his 30s, was rushed to hospital with a severed arm.
