Jay-Z, P. Diddy top list of richest rappers

He routinely tops the charts with hit albums, and now rapper star Jay-Z has been proclaimed the top earning rapper, according to Forbes Magazine.
Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter, earned $37 million US in 2010. The entrepreneur hit the road with his Blueprint 3 tour, cashed in on a $150-million deal with Live Nation, along with an ownership stake in the NBA’s New York Nets. He also owns a chain of 40/40 clubs.
This marks the first time Jay-Z has earned more than his wife, Beyonce, since 2008.
P. Diddy was No. 2 with $35 million. He earned his cash mostly with earnings from his Bad Boy record label and partnership with Ciroc Vodka.
Rounding out the top three spots is Kanye West. In 2010, West earned $16 million from the strength of his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
And despite spending the majority of 2010 behind bars, Lil Wayne earned $15 million.
