Teen beaten outside Scarborough courthouse

An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries to his stomach and head after he was beaten outside a Scarborough courthouse on Monday.

Police said the victim and two friends were at a provincial courthouse on Eglinton Avenue East, near Warden, where one of the friends was being sentenced.

At around 1 p.m., the victim went outside during the lunch break when four cars pulled up.

About 20 men jumped out of the cars and started to beat him. Some were carrying weapons, including baseball bats and Tasers, according to a report in the Toronto Star.
