Lance Armstrong rides with cyclists in Waterloo, Ont., for cancer care

A select group of cyclists in the Waterloo, Ont., region are set to go for a ride with Lance Armstrong Saturday to raise money for cancer care.

The seven-time Tour de France winner and testicular cancer survivor will take to the road with 52 fundraisers in the fourth annual Ride with Lance event.

Event chairman David Fedy says the charity bike ride is scheduled to start Saturday morning in Cambridge, Ont. This is the last year for the event.

The cyclists’ route will take them through more than 115 kilometres around Waterloo.

The charity group says rider sponsorships have raised almost $1.2 million for the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre.
