Search for missing boater resumes on Lake Ontario

The search for an Oshawa man who disappeared on Lake Ontario has resumed.

The 42-year-old’s 16-foot empty aluminum boat washed ashore around Ashbridges Bay on Saturday and his truck and trailer were found at the harbour in Whitby, where officials believe he set off Friday night.

Authorities have spoken with the man’s family, but still can’t confirm he was the only one on the boat, which only had one life jacket.

A search and rescue team from the Trenton military base and the Durham Regional Police helicopter are participating in the search, which resumed Monday morning.
