CityVote Day 7: Where the leaders are Tuesday

Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty will campaign in Toronto Tuesday before heading to an event in Ottawa.

Meanwhile, Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak and NDP chief Andrea Horwath will be wooing voters in southwestern Ontario on the seventh day of the provincial election campaign.

Voters head to the polls on Oct. 6.

McGuinty said he wouldn’t forbid school fundraising if re-elected. His government brought in new guidelines for raising cash. He also stands by his junk food ban in schools.

Hudak is scheduled to campaign in London and Chatham before heading to an event in Kingsville.

He’s insisting his party’s economic plan could withstand another recession, but hasn’t indicated where he’d make cuts should another economic downturn hit.

Critics fear he’d make massive cuts similar to those made by former premier Mike Harris.

Hudak insists he’s committed to public health care and has vowed to protect health and education spending while cutting government spending.

Horwath will be campaigning in the Windsor-area and in Chatham Tuesday and will end her day at a barbecue in Essex Kent.

On Monday, she promised to scrap harmonized sales tax (HST) exemptions for big companies who purchase corporate boxes and premium packages at sporting events.
