CityVote Ontario 2011 riding profile: Bramalea-Gore-Malton

The riding of Bramalea-Gore-Malton was created in 2007, carved from Bramalea-Gore-Malton-Springdale. It’s been Liberal ever since – but the New Democrats are hoping that will change when Ontario goes to the polls on Oct. 6.

“There’s only one hospital that’s operational and wait times in the emergency room are ridiculously long,” NDP candidate Jagmeet Singh said.

Singh previously ran for the NDP at the federal level.

“We have that same team, that same energy, and now we have this confidence, knowing that we can make it happen this time,” he said.

Liberal incumbent Kuldip Kular is running against Conservative Sanjeev Maingi, NDP candidate Singh, Green party candidate Pauline Thornham, Libertarian Joy Lee, Family Coalition party’s Linda O’Marra, and independent Archie McLachlan.
